In between freelance design work, here’s what I’ve been up to.

Lou

First and foremost - I finally adopted a pup.

All it took to push me over the edge was a global pandemic.

In late August, Wags and Walks approved me for a week long trial adoption with a little guy who I hadn’t met yet. Six months later and I can’t remember what life was like before we found each other.

Halloween 2020 // ‘Blue Period’

Taro

Taro card reading is something i’ve always been interested in. Over the past few months, I have been dabbling.

Step 1 : Choosing a deck

There are so many! I browsed Tarot.com to figure out which one felt right for me to start with. I went with the Smith-Waite Tarot Deck, Centennial Edition. It is a reproduction of the original Rider-Waite Tarot Deck, illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith in 1909.

Step 2 : Card setup

I am starting with 3 card readings until I know each card backwards and forwards.

Step 3 : Learning the cards

By documenting each of my readings, I’m gradually memorizing the deck. To define each card, I use a combination of the booklet that came with the deck, Tarot.com, Google & Youtube.

Step 4 : Readings for other people

Once I have a well rounded pool of interpretations per card, I’ll begin to do readings for other people. Eventually I’ll be able to intuitively select the best interpretation for each individual person / reading.

Nesting

To ring in 2021 I treated myself to a new apartment.

Slowly but surely I’m making it my own.
